Myanmar Children’s Homes
WBS supporting two children’s homes in Myanmar, the Agape Childrens Home, founded by Philip and Mie Mie Ahone, and “Nunus Home” founded by Miss Nunu.
Since the beginning of our support in Myanmar, we have watched the country develop from an isolated land with a military dictatorship into a more open country with a more democratic approaches to politics and the economy. In the rural regions, however, the reforms are slow to come. The majority of the population still lives in very poor conditions.
The Agape Children’s Home is located in Tachileik in the North of the country near the Thai boarder. This home provides poor, orphaned and abandoned children from rural areas a safe and secure home and the opportunity to go to school.
Nunus Home is located at Yangon and is managed by Nunu. She is a loving and spirited woman that provides excellent oversight and guidance for the children and staff of the home. We enjoy visiting them on our trips and witnessing the physical, mental and emotional growth of the children over the years.
