Hello and happy Summer holidays to all of you with children!

I’ll keep this update short, we’re quite busy at the moment, and I injured my left hand, so typing isn’t so comfortable. It’s a bit embarrassing, I wasn’t doing anything grand or heroic, I got bit by a stray cat! Yes, I went to the doctor, yes, I got my Tetanus and Rabies shots, no, it didn’t get infected, but it did swell up to a very unattractive size and I couldn’t use my hand for almost a week. As of yesterday I’m finally out of a finger splint! Praise the Lord!

Benjamin only has a two week Summer break, because he’s on a year-round school schedule. This morning we attended a fun family day at the school before the end of the term. Each class had prepared a song or short drama to showcase their theme from the last session.  Benjamin’s class did a modernized rendition of the song “Old McDonald had a Farm,” and he was the dancing horse! 🐴😂

Work wise, we had another month of doing very normal things. I know that I’m supposed to write about all of the amazing and fabulous works we do here 😂, but sometimes the work is to just keep on doing the same things faithfully, and in the long run they make a big difference. A bit like raising a child, I guess. In June we tested water, made a scouting visit, had meetings, wrote a paper newsletter for our German speaking partners, worked with the accounting team in Switzerland, sent some emails, order some laboratory supplies, etc. You get the picture. 😉

Our house is nearly finished, hopefully we’ll be moved in when I send out my next update. It’s been a huge learning experience, and one I’m not in a hurry to repeat! 😂 But it’s good, and we’re excited to get the builders out and our family moved in!

Well, that’s it, nice and short, as I promised. We will install a new water filtration system tomorrow, at the Kampot Evangelical Friends Church. I’ll send the photos in the next update.

Have a great summer everyone, and happy 4th of July weekend to the US readers.

Blessings,

Jenny and Family
